This album combines some previously released material from Max’s 2019 EP Soleil (the first four tracks are from that) and adds two recordings that haven't appeared anywhere else: the original tune “Rooster" and Max’s arrangement of "Grey Owl,” both of which were recorded in Denver in the fall of 2019, with Matt Brown and Otto Allard. The final two tracks are from the live recording from Max’s opening set for Sam Bush in February 2020, both are also with Otto Allard.
